If your favorite band has ever played a concert in the Minneapolis, they probably played at First Avenue. Since the legendary venue opened its doors for its first show (Joe Cocker on April 3rd, 1970), First Avenue has set the standard for other venues in the Twin Cities. From their dance nights to hosting artists ranging from the Breeders, Lucinda Williams, and Motorhead, First Avenue (along with their venerable kid sister, the 7th Street Entry) has been showcasing the best national acts, while simultaneously nurturing an amazing local scene.
