Goldy’s Locker Room to open in new stadium

Gold Country, Inc. announced Tuesday that it will be opening a new Goldy’s Locker Room store at the main entrance of the new TCF Bank Stadium.
According to Jeff Falk, a spokesperson for Gold Country, the plans for opening this store were first discussed with the University of Minnesota when construction for the stadium was announced.
“Obviously TCF Bank Stadium will be the year-round go-to destination for Gopher fans, friends and visitors,” Falk said. “It’s logical that Goldy’s Locker Room would establish a presence at the stadium.”
Gold Country has been the official licensed retailer for Minnesota sports since 1993, carrying the broadest range of Gopher memorabilia. Their new location at the stadium is expected to boast the largest selection of Gopher sports products in the state.
The Goldy’s Locker Room will feature the history and heritage of Gophers football through signage, murals, artifacts of famous Gopher players and coaches, as well as key moments in Gophers football history.
The store will also feature some unique fan attractions that will be unveiled to the public the day the store opens. Falk would not release specific details, but mentioned that Goldy will definitely be involved.
While the new store will see most of its business during home games, it will also be open weekdays and weekends regardless of the football schedule. The store is expected to be finished and open for business by mid-August.
“Gold Country is just very proud of this longstanding and successful partnership with the University of Minnesota and is very excited to continue this partnership with Goldy’s Locker Room at TCF Bank Stadium,” Falk said.
