What to check out this weekend.

Watch this: Catch Morgan Freeman playing Nelson Mandela in “Invictus.” The Nobel Prize winner and activist requested that Morgan Freeman portray his life story. We’re also looking forward to Heath Ledger in “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.”

Listen to this: No, not Chris Brown , despite his release this week. Why not gravitate toward Snoop Dogg’s “Malice N Wonderland.” For my mom, I’m going to grab “Glee’s” 2nd volume of covers.

Read this: Esquire’s fiction editors are obsessed with Stephen King, so maybe the horror auteur has cycled through fame and back to be considered somewhat of a literary underdog. Check out his new 1000+ page release “Under the Dome.”

Eat this: Bring an unwrapped children’s toy or a bag of pet food to Muddy Paws Cheesecake on 27th St. W. to get into their cheesecake sampling blowout today from 4-9 p.m.

Drink this: It’s the season for holiday tea. We’d recommend Brit’s Pub downtown, which serves tea from 1-3:30 p.m. along with finger sandwiches, desserts and other sundries. Plus, there’s plenty of booze.

Click this: Pitchfork’s “The Worst Album Covers of 2009” is a concise, witty dose of pain for all the douchiest musicians and music marketers of the year, Chris Brown and Joss Stone included.
