Watch this: The Oscars are Sunday. See which A&E writer is smarter with their respective picks — Kara Nesvig or Tony Libera. Here’s to Tarantino upsetting Best Director!

Read this: Pitchfork’s Nitsuh Abebe makes the casek that Indie is alive and strong, despite certain rumors that the genre is nearing its deathbed. I understand Abebe’s objective — an Indie death for Pitchfork would be like a young girl plague for Seventeen.

Listen to this: Releases from electronic up-and-comers jj, Blur frontman Damon Albarn’s side project Gorillaz and quintessential indie band Pavement are on our list of albums to check out this week.

Eat this:
This Tuesday, the chef at Salut Bar Americain will be hosting a tasting dinner from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. Five is the magic number, with five courses ($36.96 per person) and five paired wines ($19.95 per person). Note: as a date, this will impress women.

Drink this:
Local vendor of all things alcohol, Surdyk’s Liquor Store recommends this cocktail via Twitter (surdyksliquor): Cruzan Black Strap Rum with Regatta Ginger Beer. If it could talk, it would say, “Why, hello, spring.”

Click this: Ten years ago this horrendous video “Shine” by Final Placement would have fallen off the earth, unnoticed. Unfortunately, viral sensations crop up every day, and this horrendous high school band from Midland, Texas became one. The group is so ashamed they deleted their MySpace. (http://vimeo.com/9625670)
