Derrell Jacori Cole, arrested for one of the Jan. 25th campus robberies, pleaded guilty last week to two felony robbery charges, according to University police.
The 17-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated robbery in relation to the robbery of two University students outside of Moos Tower. It was one of three crimes that night police believe to be connected, including a previous robbery and the eventual shooting of University student Timothy Schumacher.
University police are still investigating others believed to be involved in the case, as well as working with the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office on further charges.
“Evidence suggests the same individuals committed the robberies and the shooting,” according to a campus alert sent by University police Monday night.
Cole also pleaded guilty to another aggravated robbery charge for a robbery he committed in north Minneapolis earlier that night.
