The Carlson School of Management announced Tuesday the second of its four dean finalists.
Charles H. Whiteman has served as the senior associate dean at the University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business since 2006. He will visit campus Thursday for a public presentation and interviews.
Whiteman earned a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Minnesota in 1981. Hehas spent much of his career as a researcher and professor of economics at the University of Iowa.
Two more candidates are scheduled to be announced soon, and will give presentations on Feb. 6 and Feb. 13. After a selection has been announced, a new dean is expected to begin in March.
Former Carlson School Dean Alison Davis-Blake resigned in August to take the same position at the University of Michigan’s Stephen M. Ross School of Business. Sri Zaheer has served as dean in the interim.
Whiteman’s presentation will be held Thursday from 3 to 4:15 p.m. in Carlson’s 3M Auditorium.
