The search committee for the University of Minnesota vice president for University Services announced three finalists.
The three candidates, announced last week, are Mike Berthelsen, associate vice president of Facilities Management, Pam Wheelock, CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota and Tom Sorel, CEO of the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The current vice president for University Services, Kathleen O’Brien, announced her retirement in February.
The purpose of University Services is “to make the University work,” which it does by overseeing Facilities Management, Campus Health and Safety, University police and construction on campus, according to the University Services website.
The three candidates had public forums earlier this week, where they presented what they would bring to the position.
Students, faculty and community members can listen to the forums’ recordings online, as well as submit evaluation forms.
The firm KeyStone Search, with a committee of University faculty and staff, is conducting the search.
