Student groups will have access to panels on both sides of the Washington Avenue Bridge this year for the annual "Paint the Bridge" event, Student Unions and Activities announced via Facebook today.
Painting the interior panels of the sheltered pedestrian bridge is a more than 20-year-old tradition at the University of Minnesota where student groups create artwork to attract membership.
Due to heavy light-rail construction, groups only had access to half of the panels last fall. Still, representatives from more than 300 student groups and University departments painted the panels on the north side of the bridge.
This year, groups will be able to paint their panels Sept. 20-21 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Groups and University departments can reserve panels online now on SUA's website.
UMN students have traveled to Florida colleges to collaborate with students on various projects.
When UMN students plan for a vacation, having trip cancellation travel insurance is a worthwhile commodity to check out.
