Man dies after jumping off U parking ramp

A man jumped to his death from the Washington Avenue parking ramp just before 11 a.m. Wednesday. Paramedics declared him dead on the scene, according to University of Minnesota police Deputy Chief Chuck Miner.

The man, who Miner said was in his mid-50s and was not a member of the University of Minnesota community, came from Missouri seeking medical treatment.
