Gophers freshman wide receiver Andre McDonald was in street clothes on the sidelines Saturday after being released from the hospital Thursday evening.
McDonald told the Minnesota Daily on Thursday afternoon that he had a “little problem with my heart.”
A team spokesman said McDonald underwent tests Thursday before his release. The freshman was listed as questionable for Saturday’s game with an undisclosed condition.
Head coach Jerry Kill said after the game that “everything the trainers have talked to me about is [that] he will be fine and ready to go.”
McDonald has not played in the Gophers’ last three games. He recorded one reception for seven yards against Nevada-Las Vegas on Sept. 8. He suffered an infection in his leg from a turf burn two weeks ago, according to Kill.
