Leandro Toledo’s stay at the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships was cut short this weekend.
The Gophers senior lost in the first round on Thursday to No. 11 Harrison Adams 6-7 (3), 6-2, 7-5.
Toledo, the No. 22 singles player in the country, also lost Saturday in consolation play.
No. 18 Denis Nguyen of Harvard beat Toledo 6-3, 7-5 in the Gophers star’s last match of the fall season.
Toledo also competed in the tournament as a sophomore, winning his first-round match before losing in the next round.
He wrapped up his fall slate with a 7-4 record. The Gophers will resume action on Jan. 17 against Marquette and South Dakota State.
