Step away from the studies and go to the Young Fathers concert. The Scottish hip-hop trio consists of ‘G’ Hastings, Alloysious Massaquoi and Kayus Bankole. The three come from diverse places, like Liberia and Scotland. Their sound is a mix of rough rock, deep soul and electronic. Last year, the group won the Scottish Album of the Year Award for its 2013 EP. Reward your hard work this semester by rocking out to Young Fathers for a few hours.

Culture to consume
Are you stressed because of finals? De-stress with “Pet Away Worry Stress” at Boynton Health Service. On Wednesdays from 3 to 5 p.m. you can spend quality time with registered therapy animals for free. These furry caregivers include dogs, cats, rabbits and even a chicken. Spending time with these cuddly creatures can be beneficial to your blood pressure, heart rate, stress and overall happiness.
Gilmore Girls reruns
Grab the remote and flip on Netflix. A rerun or two (or seven) episodes of Gilmore Girls will soothe your soul. The lives of characters Lorelai and Rory Gilmore will ease your finals’ week sorrows, or at least put a smile on your face for its 44 minute runtime. And if Gilmore Girls isn’t your cup of tea, turn to a different television program. There is something undeniably comforting about watching old reruns of a cast you know and love.
Finals week is upon us, and summer is right around the corner. Most of us at this point are hoping for the week to be over. But don’t fret; you have prepared all semester for this. Take ten minutes and make a list of what you need to complete. Write the dates and times of your upcoming finals in one convenient place. Add incentives to your list to act as mini rewards for each step you complete along the way. You are almost at the finish line. You can do it.
