A transformer explosion at the West Bank Office Building has caused some University Internet systems to go offline.
The explosion occured Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.
University spokesman Dan Wolter said the office building is a main hub for Internet servers on campus.
Xcel Energy is currently working to correct the problem, and has brought in a back-up generator to help supply some power to the building until they can finish repairs, which Wolter suggested would be complete by Wednesday morning.
"All the contingencies seem to be working just fine," he said.
Most major systems, including the main network and e-mail were working as normal, Wolter said. Certain systems, such as WebVista A and C, as well as the Library Catalog System, are currently offline.
