Let it snow, but beware of slippery roads

The University is blanketed in snow for the first time this season. Approximately 1 to 3 inches is expected across the Twin Cities. But beware of the seemingly feeble fluffy flakes.

The State Patrol reported 200 crashes on state highways between 12 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. Of those, 114 occurred in the Twin Cities according to the Star Tribune.

State Patrol spokesman Lt. Eric Roeske warns drivers to be careful on the slippery roads.

“Allow extra time to get where you’re going, use caution and slow things down,” Roeske said. “That way, you’ll get where you need to go.”

The snow is expected to get heavier throughout the evening. However, it should melt by Monday classes so enjoy the snow while you can.

“It’s about time,” University sophomore Avalon Thomas said. “I’m definitely excited for it.”

Looks like it’s time for the gloves to come out.
