Taking a weekend off didn’t affect the Gophers hockey team’s position in the national polls.
Minnesota (18-4-4, 10-4-4 WCHA) is ranked No. 1 for the sixth straight week in both the USCHO.com poll and the USA Today/USA Hockey poll.
Six other WCHA teams joined the Gophers in the USCHO.com poll — No. 7 North Dakota, No. 8 St. Cloud State, No. 9 Denver, No. 11 Minnesota State-Mankato, No. 14 Nebraska-Omaha and No. 19 Wisconsin.
Minnesota will return to action this weekend with a two-game series against St. Cloud State at the National Hockey and Event Center in St. Cloud, Minn.
