Gophers up on Iowa at the break on strength of Andre Hollins

Remember after the Ohio State game when it seemed like the Gophers belonged to DeAndre Mathieu and Elliott Eliason? Remember when it seemed like Andre Hollins and Austin Hollins were turning into role players?

Yeah, they've taken it back in the first half in Iowa.

Andre Hollins scored 18 points and Austin Hollins chipped in nine points, five boards and four steals as the Gophers lead Iowa 43-41 through 20 minutes.

Minnesota played most of the first half without Eliason — who sat with two fouls. Mo Walker also picked up two fouls, forcing head coach Richard Pitino to go with a small front court of Joey King and Oto Osenieks for a decent amount of time.

The Gophers are playing to their strength, and that's shooting the rock. Minnesota is 14 for 28 from the field and 5 for 8 from downtown.

Iowa has stayed in it with a great effort on the offensive glass (seven offensive rebounds) and a lights-out shooting performance from Josh Oglesby. The junior guard has 14 points on a perfect 5 for 5 shooting performance (4 for 4 from deep).

The lead could have been bigger for the Gophers. Minnesota was up 10 late before the Hawkeyes closed the half on an 8-0 run.
