At the half: Gophers trail Wisconsin 29-23

The Gophers are used to hitting more three-pointers than their opponents, ranking second in the country in efficiency from long range.

That wasn't the case early on against Wisconsin Thursday night as the Badgers came out hot. Wisconsin hit four of its first five three-pointers to take a double-digit lead.

The Gophers responded with a steady diet of Rachel Banham. The junior guard has a team-high nine points to go along with two steals. Banham leads the Big Ten in scoring with 22.8 points per game.

Amanda Zahui B. ranks second in scoring for the Gophers, averaging 15 points per contest. Zahui B. leads the Big Ten in rebounding with 11 per game, but she's been quiet early on. The redshirt freshman from Sweden went scoreless in the first half and tallied just two rebounds.

Sari Noga and Micaëlla Riché scored five points apiece for Minnesota.

Morgan Paige leads the Badgers with nine points off of 66-percent shooting from the field.
