At the Half: Mo Walker has it going again, but that’s about it for Minnesota

Andre Hollins made a surprise start for the Gophers on Wednesday night, just two weeks after going down with a severe left ankle sprain.

But his return didn't amount to much in the first half as Minnesota trails Purdue 29-28 at the break.

Hollins had five points on 2 for 6 shooting through the first 20 minutes, but he did commit two turnovers.

Hollins was far from the only one who was careless with the rock in the first half. The two teams combined for 15 first-half giveaways — nine for Purdue, six for Minnesota.

And Hollins isn't getting much help from his backcourt mates. DeAndre Mathieu and Malik Smith have combined for four turnovers and just two points on 1 for 4 shooting.

Gophers junior center Mo Walker continued his strong play down low on the offensive end. He has eight points on 3 for 4 shooting.

Another concern for the Gophers is Purdue's production on the offensive glass. The Boilermakers have seven offensive rebounds to this point, as they're making hay getting second-chance opportunities against Minnesota's zone defense.
