The U.S. women's volleyball team defeated reigning Olympic champions Brazil three sets to one Monday in London.
The Americans won the first two sets easily at 25-18 and 25-17. Brazil managed a comeback in the third set, winning 25-22. But the top-ranked team in the world finished the match in the fourth set, scoring 25 points to the second-ranked team's 21.
Former Gophers setter Lindsey Berg started for the U.S. again. She contributed 106 sets, 17 digs, eight blocks, six spikes and 11 serves.
