The U.S. women's volleyball team fell three sets to one to defending gold medalists Brazil on Saturday in London.
The Americans dominated the first set 25-11, but Brazil collected the next three sets 25-17, 25-20 and 25-17.
Former Gophers setter Lindsey Berg overcame her left ankle injury to start and make 97 sets, eight digs, seven blocks, three spikes and 21 serves.
The U.S. women have never won a gold medal in indoor volleyball. Berg said before the Games she plans to retire afterward. Head coach Hugh McCutcheon will take over the Gophers women's volleyball team now that his national team duties are complete.
