Want an opportunity to live out your middle school food-fight fantasy? Here’s your chance!
This Saturday, July 14th, thousands of tomato enthusiasts will gather in downtown Minneapolis for an all out fruit brawl. The day will kick-off at noon with live music, food trucks, and other entertainment. At six p.m. the battle, which is in the same vein of Spain’s famous La Tomatina, will begin.
In addition to providing a big ole party, the Fest aims to raise awareness about food waste, and even plans to donate partial proceeds from tickets to the local charity Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless.
Tickets can be purchased here for forty bucks a pop. For a good cause and a good time check out the Midwest Tomato Fest. With already almost 3,000 confirmed guests, it’s sure to get messy.
