Get your credit cards ready: Dave Chappelle just up and scheduled a show at the State Theatre for tomorrow night. The performance was announced in a tweet from the Hennepin Theatre Trust just after 3 p.m. today. Tickets went on sale at 4 p.m. Chappelle has been doing these short-notice gigs all summer, and many of them have sold out in hours. Tickets are $54 before fees, but by all accounts audiences are getting their money's worth from the reclusive comedian: a recent show in Oregon apparently lasted for two and a half hours. So if you don't have anything to wake up for on Friday, I say go for it. It's unlikely this will happen again soon.
