Known for their crazy stage costumes, thrashing metalheads GWAR face another tragedy. Founder and frontman Dave Brockie, known for his phallus wagging character Oderus Urungus, died Sunday night at his Virginia home. He was 50.
The Daily talked to Urungus last October and he was nice enough to also guest as our dating columnist. That October concert was their first in Minneapolis after the death of guitarist Flattus Maximus, aka Cory Smoot, in 2011 following a First Ave show.
Known equally for crassness and humor, Brockie and GWAR just celebrated their 30 year aniversary.
