Welcomed or not, many Twin Cities residents had to add significant time to their Monday-morning commute.
Light snow and freezing rain made for some slick roads as there were 96 traffic accidents across the state between 5 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., the Pioneer Press reported.
Fifteen crashes involved injuries, but there were no deaths as 140 vehicles went off the road or spun out.
The metro area may get 1 to 2 inches today, but the snow is expected to taper off by noon.
