The Alpha Gamma Delta sorority will hold its annual philanthropy event, a pancake breakfast, Saturday in continuation of the ongoing Sweetheart Week events on campus.
The event is required as part of the Sweetheart Week festivities but serves as one of the chapter's key donation events of the year. Alpha Gamma Delta's contributions will benefit diabetes awareness and education, chapter president Allison Peper said.
"The Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation provides grants that support members and other individuals living with diabetes," she said. "Overall, the Foundation impacts and enriches our communities by providing essential support for education, philanthropy and leadership."
Peper said the event is always well attended by members of the campus community, alumnae, and even Goldy Gopher.
"It is a fun way to come out and enjoy a great, cheap breakfast and meet some new people," she said.
Each chapter determines when it will hold its Sweetheart Week and philanthropy event, but through coordination the Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils, the dates have become traditional.
The breakfast is open to anyone and will be held at the Alpha Gamma Delta house Saturday. More information about the event can be found at the chapter's Facebook page.
