A woman in her late twenties was shot Wednesday night at a residence on the 2500 block of Stinson Parkway and died after being transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center, according to a police report.
KSTP reported that police said an unknown number of suspects entered the home, one shot the woman, and then they left the scene.
"I'm very surprised. This isn't typically where we see much violent crime at all," said Second Precinct Commander Inspector Bryan Schafer in an interview with KSTP.
The Minneapolis Police Department Homicide Unit is investigating and asking anyone with any information to call the Minneapolis Police Department's Tip Line at 612-692-TIPS (8477). The case number for this incident is 12-156598.
KSTP reported Wednesday's shooting death was the first homicide of the year in the second precinct of Minneapolis and the sixth citywide.
