A portion of the Hiawatha light-rail line will be closed this weekend due to construction and maintenance, according to a press release by Metro Transit. Route 55 buses will take over for the stretch from Target Field station to Franklin Avenue station.
Transit staff will be available at some stations to direct riders to buses, which will run more frequently than the train, but take longer.
The closure will take place from approximately 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 1, through 3:30 a.m. on Monday, June 4.
These light-rail stations will close during the service interruption: Target Field, Warehouse District/Hennepin Avenue, Nicollet Mall, Government Plaza, Downtown East/Metrodome and Cedar-Riverside.
