The Washington Avenue Bridge, connecting the East and West Banks of campus, will be closed for the next two weekends due to work on the upcoming light rail.
In a release sent to the University community Wednesday, Kathleen O'Brien, vice president of University services, said the bridge will be closed to cars starting 8 p.m. Friday, June 8, to 5 a.m. Monday, June 11. The bridge will also be closed the following weekend.
Bus stops at Willey and Blegen Halls will also be closed during these weekends.
On a note of good news though, O'Brien wrote in her email that the north side of the pedestrian bridge is expected to reopen by mid-June.
Any updates will be posted here.
