The Minneapolis City Council approved an agreement Friday for the installation of additional pathway lights along the Midtown Greenway, from Hennepin Avenue to James Avenue South.
The East Isles Neighborhood Organization and representatives of the bicycling community have expressed concern about the lack of lighting along the Midtown Greenway west of Hennepin Avenue, according to the city report.
The East Isles Neighborhood Revitalization Program will provide $20,000 toward the additional lighting and Hennepin County will provide $14,000 from its Midtown Community Works Capital Budget. Any costs beyond that amount will be covered by the City of Minneapolis.
