Heard today that St. Paul native Trevor Mbakwe - a 6 foot 7 inch forward who played for Marquette last season - is seriously thinking about transferring from the Golden Eagles , and has Minnesota as his top choice of schools.
Mbakwe, who averaged 21.6 points, 12.7 rebounds and 4.5 blocks as a senior at St. Bernard's High School, would of course have to sit out one season due to NCAA rules.
I first, inaccurately, reported that Mbakwe wanted out of Marquette after head coach Tom Crean left for Indiana on Tuesday. However, The Journal Sentinel is reporting that an agreement was already in place with Crean for Mbakwe to transfer schools.
What do you think Gopher fans? Would you like to see Mbakwe in maroon and gold, even if it means possibly taking a scholarship away from a future potential recruit?
