Activision Blizzard announced that they will be discontinuing the “Guitar Hero” series of video games.
The company said they will be focusing more of their attention on battle games such as “Call of Duty.”
"Due to continued declines in the music genre, the company will disband Activision Publishing's Guitar Hero business unit and discontinue development on its "Guitar Hero" game for 2011," said Activision in a statement.
Activision Blizzard also produces the popular massive multiplayer online role-playing game, “World of Warcraft” which has over 12 million paid subscribers.
