Paul Carter was screaming in pain for a few minutes on the Williams Arena floor after tumbling down with Ralph Sampson III.
Carter could put no weight on his right leg as he was carried off the floor with 8:55 left in the second half.
Carter was taken to the hospital after the game, and Smith didn't have an update. He did, along with players Blake Hoffarber and Damian Johnson, seem less-than-optimistic about his chances to return soon, though.
