Minnesota head coach Brad Frost announced that six players have signed National Letters of Intent, and will join the Gophers for the 2012-13 season.
Minnesota natives Hannah Brandt, Milica McMillen and Lee Stecklein will all be joining the team.
Brandt, a senior forward at Hill-Murray High School, has led her team to four consecutive conference titles. She's a three time all-state honoree and was named to Star Tribune's All-Metro first-team in 2011.
McMillen is a senior defenseman at Breck High School. She's a four-time all-conference selection and has been named to the all-state team three times.
Stecklein is a defenseman at Roseville Area High School. The senior helped lead her team to the 2010 state championship and has been a part of three conference championship teams. She was an all-state selection in 2011.
Oklahoma native Brooke Garzone is in her senior year at Shattuck-St. Mary's High School in Fairbault, Minn. She captained her team her to the USA U-19 national title last year. She'll play forward for the Gophers.
Amanda Leveille is a senior goalie at Frontenac Secondary School in Ontario, Canada. She's played for the Canada Under-18 team, and was named the top goaltender at the 2011 Canadaian Under-18 Championships.
Maryanne Menefee of Lasing, Mich., will join Minnesota next season as a forward. She's a member of USA's Under-18 team and has participated in camps with Team USA since 2008.
"I am extremely excited about this recruiting class. We are losing some excellent seniors, so it was important to replace them with players that are outstanding," Frost said in a release.
"We once again kept the top Minnesota players in state and have added three other fantastic players. They fit our programs values and I know that Gopher fans will enjoy watching them play."
