Gophers freshman guard Rachel Banham was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week on Tuesday for the fifth time this season.
In a Jan. 26 loss to Wisconsin, Banham led the Gophers with 19 points. She went 3-for-3 from 3-point range. She also pitched in four rebounds and four steals.
In Minnesota's Jan. 29 win over No. 9 Ohio State, Banham shot 3-for-4 in 3-point field goal attempts, and 5-for-8 overall. She also made all seven of her free throw attempts on her way to a team-high 20 points.
Banham last earned this honor Jan. 16. Banham and the Gophers will next travel to Champaign, Ill., for a game on Feb. 2 at 7:30 p.m.
