The Gophers' last runner standing on the final day of U.S. Olympic trials missed the Olympic team by one place.
Former women's team athlete Gabriele Anderson placed fourth in the 1,500-meter run final Sunday, crossing the line in 4:07.38. She needed to break the top three for a chance to travel to London.
Anderson was temporarily disqualified from the final after fellow racer Amy Mortimer filed a complaint that Anderson impeded her in the semifinal. USA Track and Field allowed Anderson back in the final after a successful appeal.
