Recent women's basketball graduate Kiara Buford signed a professional contract to play in Poland on Tuesday. The guard will play for Matizol Lider Pruszkow starting in August.
Buford's future team finished sixth in last year's Polish league at 14-12. Its opening game is Sept. 29.
"I am very excited about this opportunity," Buford said in a release. "Being so far away, I am a little nervous, but more excited than anything. I am just ready for something new, and this is definitely going to be something new for me in many different ways."
Buford was a three-time All-Big Ten honoree and ended her Gophers career with 1,532 points. She ranks seventh in career points at Minnesota.
Another recruit is former Texas A&M star Tyra White who will join Buford in Poland.
