The Gophers men's track and field team brought 10 athletes to the NCAA outdoor championships this week and returned with 11 All-America honors.
Minnesota scored 9.5 points to place 27th out of 79 teams at the meet in Eugene, Ore. Texas A&M and Florida shared the team title with 53 points.
The Gophers placed 16th at last year's outdoor meet and took home three All-America honors.
Junior John Simons made second-team All-America on Saturday with a 10th-place finish in the 1,500 meters, and senior Oladipo Fagbemi made honorable mention with a 21st-place finish in the triple jump.
Minnesota earned nine All-America honors in the first three days of the meet, highlighted by senior Harun Abda's fourth-place finish in the 800 meters and senior Micah Hegerle's sixth-place finish in the hammer throw. Freshman Wally Ellenson placed eighth in the high jump Friday.
