Game preview: Gopher football at New Mexico State

Gopher football takes on New Mexico State at 7 p.m. tonight, the programs' second meeting in three seasons. As Minnesota kicks off its second game of 2013 on the road, there are several storylines to follow:

How will the team handle the altitude after showing fatigue last week against UNLV?

-What can we expect from the Gophers run game with Donnell Kirkwood out due to an ankle injury? Sophomore Rodrick Williams will start.

-Expected to see more playing time this week, will true freshman Donovahn Jones be the playmaker Minnesota's receiving corps desperately needs?

New Mexico State defensive lineman Willie Mobley could have been a Gopher. How will he fare against his home state team?

Minnesota was upset at home by the Aggies two seasons ago, what's changed since then?

-Going up against an up-tempo offense for the second-straight week, can the Gophers defense stop short-yardage plays that wear down a defense?

How strong will Derrick Wells be in his first game of 2013 after not playing against UNLV with hamstring and shoulder injuries?
