Iowa (3-5) at

The Iowa Hawkeyes have taken the word underachieving to a new level. The team doesn’t have that much talent, but Hayden Fry can’t even get the few players with exceptional skills to play up their level. Freshman RB Ladell Betts (802 all-purpose yards) is one of the most consistent players on the team, while WR Kahlil Hill is still one of the most dangerous punt returners in the conference. Purdue can’t escape from the underachiever tag, either. Remember that 56-21 blowout of the Gophers? Well, the Boilermakers have gone a not-so-hot 2-2 and are not sure bets for a bowl bid. QB Drew Brees is still firing away, with 2,620 passing yards and 20 touchdowns, and he’ll be looking for his main man, WR Randall Lane (49 catches). It will be up to Hawkeyes’ CB Tarig Holman to help stop the Boilermakers’ aerial assault. The Boilermakers’ defense is led by sack machine Rosevelt Colvin (nine sacks), who will be looking to give nightmares to Iowa QB Randy Reiners all game.
