I was outside the Dinky Dome one day, looked up, and realized, whoa, there's a coffee shop in there.

For how long have I patronized the Dinky Dome? Since Fall of 2005, good lord. But even while sitting beneath the dome inside, for some reason I never noticed this place. I never looked for an entry to a big indoor coffee shop space right behind the kiosk out front, which sells various beverages and pastries.

So what's to say? Well, it's artsy and aloof inside. You get the sense the people who are there are regulars, and are happy to have found this out-of-the-way space. Of course, you're paying top dollar for that space. The prices on the beverages and pastries don't appear to be good deals at all.

I had a Sprecher Cream Soda (fire brewed with real honey, so the bottle claimed) which I'd never had before, and I enjoyed it, but I can't see myself going there again because even though the atmosphere is very nice--in an artsy aloof sort of a study space kind of way--I didn't see anything which was a good deal.

If I want to pay top dollar for a Rice Krispy Bar, I'll do it in an airport.
