Reading the budget daily and contacting reporters who have not made graphics requests

Creating daily accompanying graphics for each story and posting web versions of each

Overseeing and creating designs for news story projects

Attending weekly managers meeting

Attending daily news meetings

Remain on call incase problems arise with production staff

Designing annual “Day in the Life” issue

Designing Finals Issue cover

Conduct training sessions for reporters on how to request graphics

Qualifications

Portfolio review with an emphasis on typographic use and editorial layout

Must demonstrate knowledge of Adobe Design Suite

Attention to detail and deadlines

Must be a University of Minnesota student
