Network Administrator

Responsibilities

• Upgrade, maintain, repair, training, backups for Windows, OS X, and Linux environments.
• Responsible for all network security, following Daily and University policy.
• Works with IS Manager to determine policy and work flow for the department.

Qualifications

• Network administration in at least one of the following operating systems: Windows, OS X, or Linux.
• Demonstrated ability to learn network administration in other areas.
• Must have knowledge or aptitude to learn Daily operating systems and environment.
• Must be a University of Minnesota student, preferably in a computer related major.
• A+ Certification or similar experience preferred, but not required.

Essential Functions

• Must have the ability to hear and speak English clearly.
• Regularly requires the ability to visually analyze information.
• Regularly requires verbal intelligence to convey ideas, knowledge and thorough critiques for department and other Daily staff.
• Must occasionally be able to lift up to twenty pounds, regularly ten pounds.
• Occasionally requires crouching or stooping and reaching or stretching when working with computers and electrical equipment.
• There is an occasional risk of electric shock when working with machines.
• The position requires near acuity where there is a clarity of vision at twenty feet or more with or without corrective lenses.
• Motor coordination skills necessary while working with computers and other equipment.
