Drupal/PHP Developer

Responsibilities

• Responsible for development of new features on and maintenance of mndaily.com.
• Develop systems and tools for all departments of the Minnesota Daily.
• Opportunity to work on mobile apps, interactive graphics and other web projects.
• Work predominantly in the office (15 to 20 hours a week).

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with PHP programming and the Drupal content management system.
• Competence in JavaScript, CSS, MySQL and other web technologies
• Familiarity with version control software (i.e. Subversion)
• Familiarity with Linux/UNIX is a plus
• Experience with mobile app development is a plus

Essential Functions

• Must be a University of Minnesota student.
• Must have the ability to hear and speak English clearly.
• Frequently requires the ability to visually analyze information.
• Regularly requires verbal intelligence to convey ideas, knowledge and thorough critiques for department and other Daily staff.
• Regularly requires repetitive finger motion and finger dexterity.
• There is an occasional risk of electric shock when working with machines.
• Motor coordination skills necessary while working with computers and other equipment.
• Must be able to distinguish between colors.
