Co-Publisher and President

We are seeking an ambitious individual for the position of Co-Publisher and President, Corporate President and Chair of The Minnesota Daily’s Board of Directors. The Co-Publisher and President, along with the Office of the Publisher (consisting of the Co-Publisher and President, Co-Publisher and Business Operations Officer, and Co-Publisher and Editor in Chief) must have the ability to focus on long term goals for The Minnesota Daily. The Co-Publisher and President is the Chairperson of the Board of Directors and must help to ensure that the Daily is operating in a fiscally responsible manner and within its mission statement. The Co-Publisher and President is also responsible for organizing board meetings, working within the Office of the Publisher to ensure equality for all areas of newspaper operations and for supervising the administrative division, which includes the Human Resources, Information Systems and Online departments. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to be an effective spokesperson for the Daily and to work effectively with others is required. The ability to handle confidential material is a must. Applicants must be a University of Minnesota student with 36 undergraduate credits or 15 graduate credits completed and a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0, although a minimum of 2.6 is preferred.
