Co-Publisher and Editor in Chief

The Daily is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to manage every aspect of our editorial division. This person is responsible for leading all of the Daily's editorial operations including the newsroom, editorials/opinions, audio/video and production. The Editor in Chief has exclusive authority over the news coverage and editorial content of the Daily. He or she ensures that the paper provides fair and accurate information of interest to the University community, reflecting diverse viewpoints and issues of importance. The qualified candidate will have a least one-year of successful experience at a newspaper or another news organization. Strong news judgement and an understanding of newspaper operations, journalistic ethics, and appropriate media law are essential. The ability to handle confidential material is a must. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others is also required. Must be a University of Minnesota student with 36 undergraduate or 15 graduate credits completed and a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0, although a minimum of 2.6 is preferred.
