I understand that this application and any other documents which I may receive are not contracts for employment. I further understand that no representative from The Daily other than the Board of Directors has an authority to enter into any agreement for employment for any specified period of time either prior to commencement of employment or after I have become employed, or to offer any benefits or items and conditions of employment.

Consent Agreement

I understand that if I am considered for employment, I will be asked to provide a list of professional references. I understand that if I am a final candidate for a position, I might be required to undergo a background check. This check may include Federal, State, and County Criminal Record checks, Social Security Number verification, Office of the Inspector General checks, a physical examination, as well as other tests, if applicable. If the position for which I am applying requires a professional license, my license and education will be verified. If my position requires a valid Driver's License, my motor vehicle record will also be checked.

I authorize an inquiry regarding this information if I am considered for employment, and release Minnesota Daily and related organizations from liability for seeking such information. I understand that failure to cooperate with any background check or unsatisfactory results may result in withdrawal of application for consideration of employment or offer of employment. I understand that employment may be denied if I am unable to perform the essential functions of a position, given reasonable accommodation, and that my employment may be terminated, with or without cause, at the discretion of the company or myself. No management official, other than the Office of Co-Publishers of the company, has any authority to enter into any agreement contrary to the foregoing or make any oral assurance of continued employment.
