Members of the Gophers football team will attend a funeral service Saturday for Gary Tinsley.
WCCO-TV said the former linebacker's funeral will be Saturday morning at Abyssinia Baptist Church in his hometown of Jacksonville.
Tinsley was found unresponsive by his roommate at Roy Wilkins Hall last Friday. Medical personnel could not revive him.
The athletics department has established a Gary Tinsley Memorial Fund in remembrance of the four-year letter-winner at Minnesota. The fund will help offset Tinsley's funeral expenses as well as the travel costs for his teammates to attend the funeral, The Associated Press said.
The cause of Tinsley's death is still under investigation.
