Bevan Riches builds an outdoor sink for his backyard patio Sunday at his home in St. Louis Park. Riches, a firefighter laid off in September 2011, has been unsuccessful in finding other work. With the help of the SAFER grant, the Minneapolis Fire Department hopes to hire him and five others back later this summer.
