Woman victim of attempted robbery near McNamara

The woman was not injured.
A woman was nearly robbed by three people Saturday, according to a crime alert sent to the University of Minnesota community Monday.

The alert says the victim, who is not a student at the University, was approached by three suspects while walking down Oak Street Southeast at 1 a.m.Saturday near
McNamara Alumni Center. The suspects pushed her to the ground and assaulted her before attempting to steal her purse.

The three fled south toward Washington Avenue Southeast, and the victim was not seriously injured, the alert said.

The recent crime alert marks the fourth sent out since the beginning of September.
