The Minnesota Lynx announced yesterday in a release that they have re-signed guard Candice Wiggins. Wiggins was drafted by the Lynx in 2008, and has been an important part of the team since. The team has a policy of not disclosing contract details.
She averaged 17.1 minutes per game last season, and shot a career-high 49 three-pointers, while going 39.5% in three-point shooting.
"Candice was an extremely important part of our team's success last season," head coach Cheryl Reeve said in the release. "She acts as a disruptive force defensively coming off our bench and provides our team with excellent energy. Candice has a great ability to create offensive opportunities with her defense, which was a tremendous benefit for our team throughout the course of this season."
The Lynx will begin their season May 20 against the Phoenix Mercury at the Target Center.
